Hoppers by Wara concept was designed and developed by our very own Head Chef and owner Warnaka Mendis. With over 15 years of industry experience and being a qualified Chef, it was his passion to start his own establishment and give his unique touch to the dishes he creates. Fifteen years ago, he learnt to make hoppers at a South Indian Restaurant in Melbourne, and then gradually started to do catering for his close friends which then grew by word of mouth as the Hoppers were ‘Delicious and Crunchy’ and on demand by most Sri Lankans, Indians and even Australians. ‘Kiri Appam’ was very popular among the Tamils and South Indians as this was a dish they loved and craved in their own country.
